World War I Postal Card from Portugal to Colt Firearms, with Censor Mark
An interesting item for the history buff for a number of reasons, especially those who like philately, militaria, or firearms history.
This postal card was sent from Lisbon, Portugal to Colt Firearms (or Coltes Patent Fire Arms) and given a CENSURA (censor) mark on September 16, 1916. For context, Germany declared war on Portugal on March 9, 1916. The sender of the card asked for a catalogue in Spanish, and appeared to be interested in becoming an agent for Colt in Portugal. The card appears to have been received at Colt in October 1916.
