We’ve (finally) set up a Facebook page for our business. In fact, you can go there right now if you’re curious to see what it looks like. The link is:

I suppose the bigger question is, “What took us so long?”

It’s not that I’m particularly technology-averse. My first personal computer was a Commodore 64, followed by an IBM PC with a tape drive. (To start a program, you literally first loaded it from a cassette tape.) At some point, I bravely got my screwdriver out and upgraded that PC by installing a 10 MB hard drive. So yes, I’ve been using computers for quite some time.

Nor am I particularly consumed with strong feelings regarding social media. Like all things in life, there’s some good in it and some bad, because social media is a product of humans and humans, myself included, are not perfect.

My guess is that the big issue that was holding me back from creating a Facebook page for Sonora Stamp Shop was my not-entirely-correct perception that it would occupy a great deal of my time. There’s already a great deal to keep me busy (not that I’m complaining!) with getting stamps in and listed properly,  getting orders out rapidly, etc.

Anyway, it turns out that it wasn't that big a deal, and so now we have a Facebook page, which I’m hoping will be a good avenue for keeping folks aware of what’s going on with our family business; new items, new promotions, that sort of thing. Swing by and visit when you have a chance.

Happy Collecting!
